Automatic Gates

Our clients choose automatic gates for a whole host of reasons. For some it gives them convenience to get in and out of their property, for others they want to protect children and pets from busy roads. Automatic electric sliding gates and swing gates offer a secure barrier between the boundary of your property and the outside world.

Automatic gates explained

We offer a wide range of gate designs together with different types of automation which suit most applications, styles and budgets.

Our gates can be supplied in various materials including aluminium & solid hardwood timber.  They can be single or double driveway gates with options for separate pedestrian entrances.  If space is challenging then speak to us about the benefits of bifold gate automation or a track based sliding gate system.

We can even help you make a feature of your entrance, completing your installation with brick piers and ornamental stone capping.

Absolute Fire & Security will also advise you on how you and your family together with guests and deliveries can easily be granted authorised access through the gates.

There are many different ways to gain access through automated electric gates.  A few examples of these include:

  • Audio or video intercom

Commonly asked questions about gates

What are the different types of automatic gate?

There are six types of commonly used automatic gates. These include sliding electric gates, cantilever gate, electric swing gates, vertical lift gate, vertical pivot lift gate, bi-folding gate, and barrier arm gates.

Our range of gates are available in a choice of finishes and materials to suit your property and the surrounding area. These include hardwearing metal gates, traditional wooden gates and lightweight aluminium gates.

Can automatic gates be opened manually?

Being able to open your automated gate system manually is an important safety consideration. All of our electric gate installations have a manual release mechanism. This is a key which disengages the gates from the motor. It temporarily disables the automatic function so you can open and close your gates without power. This is case with any of our automatic gates – from underground gate through to gate arm or sliding gate motor.

How do automatic gate sensors work?

Most automated gate systems use optical sensors or motion detectors. These are installed on the sides of the gate and trigger it to open and close.
